Fashion continues to evolve.

Here's something new for editorial readers: peel-away sponsored covers.

Cosmopolitan's May Issue will feature a L'Oreal Paris ad cover {designed by Cosmo} with Mod Robyn Lawley on it and the main attraction underneath; actress Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting.

There are a lot of changes going in the fashion industry. Fashion brands are coming up with creative ways to keep the umph in their brands. You see retailers closing locations just to move online. . It's only going to get more interesting.

Chung is probably best know for her flawless modeling ads, displaying her natural beauty. She is also a Jack or should I say Chick of all trades. Remember her recent collaboration with Eyeko...Chung is still on a roll!

This was my TBT for yesterday {pardon me}, but I had some things to tend to which cut in my posting time. I was given an opportunity to post in Young Men’s Perspective Magazine, owned by Jeff Hodges who is also a published author {S/O to my mom for the connection!}.

Cover Girl: Joan Smalls for Elle Magazine {January 2014 Issue}

Super model Joan smalls, who is one of the top models featured in the ‘Yonce’ video, is covering the January 2014 Issue of Elle Magazine!

The 25 year old Puerto Rican native opens up to Elle, in her interview:

"People hide behind the word aesthetic," she tells Elle. "They say, 'Well, it's just that designer's aesthetic.' But when you see 18 seasons in a row and not one single model outside a certain skin color…? There are people in the industry who are advocates, who support diversity. And there are people who do not. I don't get it. Beauty is universal. These doors have to open."

How her modeling career started:

"I came to New York with a dream. I came to do what I saw girls doing in campaigns, in editorials — great things, challenging things."

Lady Gaga covers 4 covers for V Magazine {Fall Issue}

Lady Gaga is on four covers of V Magazine's Fall 2013 issue. I'm not sure if it's the September issue, but her new album ArtPop comes out in September {though another source is reporting Nov.}so she has perfect timing, again! Lady Gaga is back, or should I say 'strikes back' at the scene with a new look... actually we never know which one will stick..its Gaga.  

I like her different looks for the covers, in which she almost looks unrecognizable. It's a more toned down Gaga {I like over-the-top Gaga too}. The shots were taken by Inez &Vinoodh Check out all covers below!

Miley Cyrus {aka Hannah Montana} has a new look and she is wearing it well, I’m definitely feeling the 90’s vibe. Miley did a 10-page spread with Elle UK {June issue} which was shot by photog Jan Welters. She is opening up about where she is in her life...she's engaged?! {Congrats}

"I feel like Rapunzel. Rapunzel with a mohawk!" And how she has learned her lesson about revealing all on social media, "We were too nice to the world and gave them too much insight — into my life and my puppies and my house — and I just don’t feel they get that privilege any more. Like on my Twitter, I’m much more... not conservative, but you don’t see a picture of my dogs. You don’t get that personal stuff any more.”

She’s growing up. This issue hits newsstands today!

Karl Lagerfeld + Cara Delevingne For Melissa Magazine {Watch This!!}

Fashion's fairy God Father Karl Lagerfeld shot {and appears along side} one of fashion's IT-girls, Cara Delevingne, for the cover of Plastic Dreams. This the in-house magazine for shoe giant, Melissa. Karl became a part of the Melissa family after signing a four season deal designing an exclusive collection of shoes for the jelly shoe giant. 

For the ninth issue of the mag, Melissa gave Karl creative direction for the cover and a 30 page spread featuring a 16-page fashion shoot with Cara D wearing looks from the first capsule collection by Karl, including a shoe she wears on top of her pony tail. WOW!! 

A teaser video from the shoot shows Cara "the queen of kooky fashion videos" making faces and putting up bunny ears behind Karl while he pretends to be completely unruffled by Cara, staying cool and collected behind his iconic shades.

Although the mag is a Brazilian publication, you can still see the shots; It is distributed to Melissa's clients, on sale in 30 countries and there are digital versions. Check out Melissa.com for more info how to get a copy.

Net-A-Porter's New Mag

Net-A-Porter has launched a new weekly magazine titled "The Edit",  that caters to "women with great style and great stories" according to the magazine editor, Lucy Yeomans {formerly at British Harper's Bazaar}.  Net-A-Porter has had the online magazine of some form for awhile {under the moniker, "The Magazine"} but now it has a real, glossy-sounding name and is expected to release a print version of the magazine this fall.

Featuring original editorials, advertisements, and context in a variety of languages, "The Edit," is a bona fide magazine in every way; the the print edition will compete with Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, according to WWD. The difference between "The Edit" and traditional fashion magazines will be that they will use intel directly from Net-A-Poter costumers, knowing exactly what is being bought at full price, on sale, what is being requested when sold out, and what is being passed over. This is a very resourceful way to cater to their readers as well increasing profitability.

We think this is a innovative twist on fashion mags and wish Net-A-Porter much success.

Vogue Italia Mag is making history! {Fei Fei Sun}

The fashion industry is already making history at the beginning of 2013! 

Vogue Italia is featuring Fei Fei Sun on the cover of its January 2013 issue.  Why is this history you may ask?? Well, she is the first Chinese model to do a solo cover for the mag, which is HUGE!

 

The lovely photos where shot by renowned photog Steven Meisel.  That is awesome, congratulations Fei Fei {keep an eye on this chick}!
