Sophia Webster + J. Crew shoe collaboration {Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week}

Shoe designer Sophia Webster has created a capsule collection for J.Crew. Webster is a chick who can design the mess out of some shoes!  Her shoes are eye-catching and very fashion forward mostly designed with polka dotsmultiple colors and patterns all-in-one {a real party on the feet}. The collaboration consists of 30 different designs which debuted at the
J. Crew Spring 2014 show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

"The collection is really fun and feminine, very me, but still a hybrid of the two brands," Webster said

Not sure when these shoes will be available, but I'm sure they will sell out!

Marissa Webb is Launching Her Own Line

Photo: WWD
Her name might not ring a bell but, as J.Crew’s former head of women’s wear designer since 2000, some of us have already been wearing Marissa Webb's designs…for years! In 2011, Webb was replaced by Tom Mora when she resigned from J.Crew to “pursue other opportunities.” According to WWD, Webb is now set to debut her first {self-named} collection, launching spring 2013, during fashion week this fall.

The collection, described as tomboy-meets-girly-girl, will offer boyish blazers, tie-neck blouses, skinny cargo jeans, dresses and more. Sounds a lot like J.Crew…“A lot of people ask me, 'Will your collection look like J.Crew?'” Webb said. “The honest answer is, in my mind, no. But after being at J.Crew for 11 years, a lot of my own personal aesthetic is in J.Crew because that was my job. The same things that influenced me then influence me now.” she explains. Well that is understandable.

One thing that will set Webb’s line apart from J.Crew is her wholesale price range {$125 for a T-shirt, $325 for a blazer, $1,500 for limited-edition dresses}. Webb’s previous position has definitely giving her great advantages in launching her own line, particularly with finding investors. Dallas-based, Bedrock Manufacturing, Co. {also owns part of Steven Alan} has a minority stake in Webb’s business, with Steven Alan handling Webb’s sales.

I know there are plenty of J.Crew fans exicted to see this collection.

Watch This!!: J. Crew will be on CNBC!!! {Sneek Peak}

One of America's most beloved retailers and clothing brands, J. Crew, will be on CNBC tomorrow Thursday May, 24CNBC will premiere a new behind-the-scenes documentary called  J.Crew and the Man Who Dressed America. It is detailing how J.Crew has become, such a powerhouse retailer that dresses a large portion of our nation....oh yea, and our FLOTUS Michelle Obama!

You would not believe the process it takes to bring a clothing line to life, let alone become a recognizable brand.  Trust me, it is very intense.  Here is just one of the clips of the documentary below{Watch the rest here}.
