Red Carpet: 2014 Billboard Awards {FAVES!}

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards took place last night Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Billboards allow leeway with style, meaning attire doesn't have to be extra glamorous.

There were very nice looks from casual-chic to full on glam. We are looking for what catches the TFC eye {balance & flow, head-to-toe}.  Check our FAVES below!

Jennifer Lopez stunned in red, as she wore a chiffon gown with a plunging neckline, which draped over a leotard. It was pulled together with a complimenting belt. This look is soo JLo! Congrats to JLo for receiving the Billboard Icon Award!

Nicki is that you chick?! Nicki Minaj wore a long black dress with cut out panels in the cleavage and midsection areas. She is rocking a more natural-chic look these days. GORGE!

Model Chrissy Teigen showed her gorgeous legs. She opted for an off-the-shoulder mini dress that has a print that pulled the look together, with the accessories. Each level of style has a clear focus {hair, dress, bag, shoes}!

Kelly Rowland looked stunning in this 2 piece, number. The skirt slits are a nice touch and its a refreshing look to the cut off tops {but in glam appeal}. Digging this complete look!

Carrie Underwood is a TFC red carpet FAVE! She knows her style very well {head-to-toe}. This looked a little more edgy-chic than her usual, but she executed it nicely!

New recording artist, Iggy Azalea stunned in a lace cut out gown. She looks GORGE!

Kesha, alright now! This gown is amazing on Kesha, who has had some trying red carpet moments{pertaining to balance, flow and fit}. But this here...this look HERE Kesha...you killin' it chick!

Natasha Bedingfield went casual-chic, which displays more of a personal style. This an effortlessly chic look, head-to-toe. She is another TFC red carpet fave!

Estelle wore a fitted color block, orange and blue gown, with a thigh-high split. The accessories could have been slightly bolder, but she still looked GORGE!

16 Spring/Summer Essentials for That Fashion Chick {2014}

Spring and summer is our time to lose the layers and be freer with our wardrobe…show some skin! There are a few basic essentials that every fashion chick should keep in their closet.
Go for pieces that compliment your personal style, when it comes to fabric and prints. Remember balance & flow is key.  A closet full of versatile pieces makes for a longer closet life.
Check out TFC's S/S essentials below!

  1. Printed Silk Shorts: things that make you go ahhh! This piece pairs well with the basic essentials. Shoes with height {heels/wedges/platform shoes} will bring the best out of this piece.
  2. White Distressed Denim: distressed denim has become quite the essential for S/S. Keep it edgy-chic; try for a day to night transition.
  3. Cat Eye Shades: classic shades…last year I said aviators, this year it’s all about the cat eye!
  4. Grey Cardigan: a basic, fitted cardigan goes with everything. Pick neutral colors like camel or grey; the style will last years to come.
  5. Cigarette Pants: slightly looser than the skinnies, this is a great contour pant. Try different denim and prints as well as a crop style.
  6. Pleat Skater Skirt: nice wild card to the many different skirt styles you already possess. The pleat skater skirt is fun and compatible for the day to night switcheroo. Pick a {solid} bright or pastel color for a subtle, but BAM! statement.
  7. Lightweight Trench Coat: the weather can be so unpredictable, in certain places. Be prepared for the night chill and ‘chance of rain’. A color popping trench will be on trend.
  8. Funky Flats: flats with personality carry your look further {makes the same impact as a banging heel}. The quirkier the better.
  9. Camisoles {1Black, 1 White}: a great under layer that can also stand alone.
  10. Floral Playsuit: something fun and flirty that makes a chick feel very femi-chic, in the heat.
  11. Stud Earrings: when in doubt go with studs; works with just about all jewelry combos.
  12. Oversized-Chic & Graphic Tee’s: much needed essentials 365 days a year. Simple piece for a laid back mood. Accessories are your friend!
  13. Rose Gold Watch: different from the typical gold…makes more of a classy, girly statement.
  14. Bucket Bag: switch it up from the structure bag. This is another good wild card piece. Make sure this bag has plenty personality!
  15. Maxi Dress: summer dresses depend on your comfort and liking. The maxi is one dress in particular that is loved by all. Different prints and various styles {we love slits}, keep the maxi dress updated.
These basic essentials are great starter pieces when assembling your S/S looks!

Runway Love: CHANEL Fall-Winter 2014/15 Ready-to-Wear show - Full Film {Watch This!!}

You can ALWAYS count on Chanel {Mr. Lagerfeld} to put on a magneef show *fashion voice* lol.

See, this is what gets me inspired and all hyped about fashion. The Chanel chick is branching out more with style and edge like never before.  There are the lovely layers and the classic tweed, but there is also a sense of youthfulness with this collection. Chanel is letting her hair down; being a bit more chilax with her style. So kool in fact, it is chic enough for the grocery store.

The concept and just tying everything in with the collection, made for a very intriguing show!
