16 Spring/Summer Essentials for That Fashion Chick {2014}

Spring and summer is our time to lose the layers and be freer with our wardrobe…show some skin! There are a few basic essentials that every fashion chick should keep in their closet.
Go for pieces that compliment your personal style, when it comes to fabric and prints. Remember balance & flow is key.  A closet full of versatile pieces makes for a longer closet life.
Check out TFC's S/S essentials below!

  1. Printed Silk Shorts: things that make you go ahhh! This piece pairs well with the basic essentials. Shoes with height {heels/wedges/platform shoes} will bring the best out of this piece.
  2. White Distressed Denim: distressed denim has become quite the essential for S/S. Keep it edgy-chic; try for a day to night transition.
  3. Cat Eye Shades: classic shades…last year I said aviators, this year it’s all about the cat eye!
  4. Grey Cardigan: a basic, fitted cardigan goes with everything. Pick neutral colors like camel or grey; the style will last years to come.
  5. Cigarette Pants: slightly looser than the skinnies, this is a great contour pant. Try different denim and prints as well as a crop style.
  6. Pleat Skater Skirt: nice wild card to the many different skirt styles you already possess. The pleat skater skirt is fun and compatible for the day to night switcheroo. Pick a {solid} bright or pastel color for a subtle, but BAM! statement.
  7. Lightweight Trench Coat: the weather can be so unpredictable, in certain places. Be prepared for the night chill and ‘chance of rain’. A color popping trench will be on trend.
  8. Funky Flats: flats with personality carry your look further {makes the same impact as a banging heel}. The quirkier the better.
  9. Camisoles {1Black, 1 White}: a great under layer that can also stand alone.
  10. Floral Playsuit: something fun and flirty that makes a chick feel very femi-chic, in the heat.
  11. Stud Earrings: when in doubt go with studs; works with just about all jewelry combos.
  12. Oversized-Chic & Graphic Tee’s: much needed essentials 365 days a year. Simple piece for a laid back mood. Accessories are your friend!
  13. Rose Gold Watch: different from the typical gold…makes more of a classy, girly statement.
  14. Bucket Bag: switch it up from the structure bag. This is another good wild card piece. Make sure this bag has plenty personality!
  15. Maxi Dress: summer dresses depend on your comfort and liking. The maxi is one dress in particular that is loved by all. Different prints and various styles {we love slits}, keep the maxi dress updated.
These basic essentials are great starter pieces when assembling your S/S looks!

Vintage Sheer Blouses {All under $50}

Sheer blouses are a great way to display instant chic appeal. It works for everyone and goes with everything {we love that}! You can pair your blouse with a tank, camisole or possibly a bandeau {try to stay away from the all out bra look}. Style as you please, whether tucked in, laying over your waistband or tied at the ends. Some long sleeve sheer blouses look cute with the sleeves pushed above the elbows {I do this}. It changes the look a bit and adds a nice personal touch. There are a lot of great styles...I picked a few all under $50 {vintage style} below!

Seasonal Staple: Ankle Booties {Fall/Winter 2013}

Every season it's always a good idea to try something new. Take your style up a notch {or two} from what you did the previous year.  For this fall/winter 2013 season, the ankle booties are catching my eyes again.

Last year I was all about my classic black suede wedge booties {they go with everything!}. Now I want a pair of stylish ones that cut below the ankle. I think these are going to be a hit trend for the season. You can jazz them up adding tights, leggings, knee highs...you get it! =D
