📚I Know a KAREN You Need to Know! {Feature}

Karen Dargan Middleton is an author homegrown from the city of Anchorage, AK. Karen, mother of four and grandmother of 3, is the author of Diamond in the Rough and Malik the Great Navigator. These great reads are geared towards youth and young adults.

"Diamond is a high school senior who sees the world through rose-colored glasses. As an only child she is sheltered by her parents, making her naive to the real world. She is an extreme optimist and believes everyone around her is good, until she is betrayed by her best friend. Her morals and values are challenged. She struggles with the thought of whether she should keep her purity until marriage, or offer it to the love of her life to make him stay and keep him happy. Rude awakenings open her eyes to heart break and physical abuse."

Diamond In The Rough derived from stories she wrote in high school
and combined into one book. Diamond In The Rough inspires young girls
to be themselves and avoid succumb to the peer pressure of young love.
Karen is projecting a part two!

Diamond In The Rough Paperback – November 21, 2011

"Malik The Great Navigator tells an amazing story of a little boy who dreamed of building his own space ship. With the help and encouragement from his father and support from his mother, this brave and imaginative little boy reached for the stars and soared to the sky."

Malik The Great Navigator inspires young boys to use their
 imagination and dream big!

💬Lakia Fashae Reporting Live! 😆😘

😃Hey Ya'll!
Whew, what a summer...busy ain't the word.

Let me fill you in just a bit:

I'm in school for my master degree in fashion journalism {I'm sooo over it 😅}.  Modules go fast in the summer with midterms, plenty of assignments, discussions and finals.

That's one thing.

My babies {Talia and Cool Chris Chris, 10 💖} had a big summer too!  S/O to my daughter for helping me come up with this post.  🎉Talia (tuh-lee-uh) celebrated her Sweet 16  last week!!!🎉

Read Talia's  blog at Her Cool Utopia www.hercoolutopia.blogspot.com
 IG - @hercoolutopia

Mommy time was much needed, AND we spent a family vacation with my mother {GMa} at a resort in Massanutten, VA.

Let's just say I been chillin'!🍹

On another note, ya'll know I be talking about them gang-stalkers I call them groupies and paparazzi. {look it up because they may be around you, especially independent artist with super dope talent 💤😁}

Being that I don't watch too much TV; alternatives are my go-to.

📰TFC Feature:
On YouTube, I watch this dope chick named Chartise Wells - AKA Japan!  She informs the public about various topics and has real talk that makes you think. I found out about gang-stalkers from her channel. There are plenty of YouTubers reporting on this phenomenon.

Chartise has a real spirit - real black woman in her true element. Chartise is an inspiration.

I have to mention her because me and her are two of God's chosen to speak our minds and be ourselves without care about what people think.  It's about seeing and allowing God to guide our steps.  I never met her but I wish there were more personalities like Chartise's. She is a cool and honest balance to the trash that's pushed in our faces.

Personally, I don't do celebrity talk and certain fashion industry talk {I use to, now I focus on building new energy}.  SOME already showed they true colors to me (I'm a blogger).  Though, I'm not co-signing Chartise's celeb talk, but I will say she makes you think and she's good at coming up with those topics; kudos to her.

The public has to put the pressure on culture vultures - expect more from your favorite artist.  They are actually doing their job, but if people only want dumb stuff that is what they will make.  There are those celebs that still have unmatched talent.

To get change, we have to get uncomfortable to get comfortable. Real ones know, because we are receiving ALL the hate! lol IDGAF 😛

Culture Vultures....Hey👋, I'm coming for you! 😁 My people gotta be themselves. Oh and for the record all black people are not kindred souls - there are EVIL blacks with NO HEART OR SOUL. They can't sit with the real ones...get that dirt up off you! 🙅
God's people are the ones with soul and glow, no matter the color of your skin! Your heart has to be in the right place, we see you devilish minions a mile away...Yucka.😇

Any who, I'm back doing what I do best - DOOOOOOPPPPPPEEENNEESSSSSS!💃

No need to be trapped in this world filled with fakes. It's difficult to push through for a minute, but its better than living in a world full of people who are so fake, they make Barbie dolls look real.

It's only uncomfortable to be real, in a fake environment.  RELAX.

All of my plans are still on schedule *wink, wink*.

👀Stay tuned.....

Have a great day!
💖💚🧡💜💛💞

Delia Alleyne Atelier
Fashion Designer

Press Release:

Paint the Town in Style with Color

The “Let’s Paint” women’s fashion collection created for spring and summer of 2016 offers a splash of colorful contrast against black silhouettes. Fashion Designer, Delia Alleyne introduced the line during the September 2015 market week in New York City. The looks include rompers, jackets, funky trousers and that classic little black dress. The “Let’s Paint” collection is splashy, bold and is styled with a retro artist’s cap that makes the collection reminiscent of the psychedelic sixties. The applied fabrics range from nets to denim, to brocades as the paint splatter and appliquéing adds detail and an interesting design element to the collection.

Painting is like a metaphor for life...”, explains Delia. “We are born as blank canvases waiting to be. Then moment by moment, stroke by stroke... We create life’s memories by applying one colorful moment in our life at a time.

Delia, with her distinguished pink hairstyle, has a passion for colorful fashions. Residing in Trinidad and Tobago, Delia creates fashions tailored towards confident women. Her personal clients are bold about making a grand appearance during special occasions, nightlife hot spots and red carpet showcases. Delia is inspired by the many crafty artists who surround her Caribbean nation. She began her career designing fashion gowns for pageantry. Delia’s tenure at Trinidad’s Caribbean Academy of Fashion and Design school prepared her for a mentorship working on costume design projects with the famed Caribbean couturieres Meiling EsauDelia strives to bring an avant-garde genre of fashion design into ready-to-wear by applying unique design details, and using finer fabrics. Delia’s goal is for the “Let’s Paint” collection to become a luxuriant lifestyle brand that is recognized throughout the Caribbean.

Feature: Jar of Joy™ {Heather Elliott-Whitehead}

Jamaican entrepreneur Heather Elliott-Whitehead just launched what some beauty industry sources are calling an affordable luxury alternative to overpriced and overrated body soufflés.

Whitehead presented her
line of soufflés at an exclusive Beauty conference held recently at the Montage Hotel in Newport Beach, California.

In a presentation she made at the conference, Whitehead stated that the beauty care and cosmetics industry was responsible for an estimated $62 billion dollars in revenue over the last ten years and she wants Jar of Joy™ to be a factor in the next ten years growth.

 About Jar of Joy

Jar of Joy™ is a luxurious line of Body Soufflé manufactured in California, the United States. The Paraben free line of body soufflés is super fruit based and is infused with extracts from the super fruits Acai, Noni and Goji. The soufflés are formulated with the essential pro-vitamin B5 which is known to be a powerful anti-aging agent. It is said that B5 has great exfoliating properties that are used to fight free radicals and promote new skin cells to consistently regenerate, offering a more youthful, fresh appearance.

Heather noted that this formulation was a key factor in the decision to produce the line. A part from the healthy benefits of the line, users of the soufflé have liken the scents—eight so far, to that of their favorite fruity desserts. With scents like Goji Berry and Orange, Pomegranate Puree and the Lush Almond Vanilla, the company bets on their attractive line up to win customers. One unique approach taken by Jar of Joy™ is the decision to omit standard ingredients label on their packaging. Fully committed to international environmental and manufacturing standards, Jar of Joy™ is honoring its corporate commitment towards a greener world by reducing the amount of paper and plastic used in its manufacturing. The company has instituted a relatively non-traditional approach to sharing their product information by referring customers to their shopping portal for ingredients and usage details. Jar of Joy™ has also indicated that they only produce the line of soufflés in an OSHA and USDA graded facility.

Jar of Joy™ is the body care division of HEATHER ELLIOTT LLC, a New York State Company registered and licensed as a Cosmetics and Beauty Care entity. HEATHER ELLIOTT LLC will continue to expand its offering under the Jar of Joy™ Brand with other complementing body care products slated for roll out in August 2105 and a line of color makeup for last quarter of 2015.

...................

Currently, Jar of Joy™ will only be available
for sale in the United States and Canada at this time; however, plans are being discussed for distribution in Jamaica and Trinidad by the first quarter of 2016 where the interest to carry the brand has been quite high.  Heather also noted that advanced negotiations are underway to get the brand distributed in Walgreens, the largest pharmacy chain in the United States. In summing up plans for this exciting initiative,Heather said…

“This is one of the most exciting parts of our journey so far, but for me, it is also the most nerve racking and exhaustive.  For example, we had to increase our product liability and ramp up our quality assurance just to even get a foot in the door and there is still no immediate guarantee, but looking at the big picture, once we have satisfied the strict guidelines and requirements for a corporation such as Walgreens, we would then know that we have created a world-class brand and for that I am truly proud.  I am very satisfied with our work on this product”

The Jar of Joy Body Soufflés retails between $18.50 and $20.00 for a 8 0z/ 236 mL jar.
