Event: Karen Dargan Middleton Honored with the 2022 Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Award

My son Christian, mother Karen, Me, and my daughter Talia

It's a beautiful fondness receiving acknowledgment for your work.

This is an awesome achievement!

The Central Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America's 2022 Stronger Together Gala Service Award Banquet, honored my mother Karen Dargan Middleton. The banquet was held Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the Tubman Museum in Macon, Georgia

"The Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Award is to recognize outstanding services by an adult individual or an organization for demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of opportunities for youth from rural or low-income urban backgrounds."

There are four recipients of the 2022 Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Award, along with four exceptional  high school students receiving the youth award. The 2022 Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award was honored as well.

Whitney M. Young, Jr. left a virtuous legacy in American History, serving until his death in 1971. A few contributions include becoming State President of the NAACP, Executive Director of the National Urban League, and Advisor of Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon. President Lyndon B. Johnson chose Mr. Young to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom- the nation's highest civilian award.

 Movers and shakers of Macon, GA were in the place!

Here's why Karen Dargan Middleton is honored:

👧 Event: Girl Scout Troops Earn Their Badges! {TFC}

Class in session =D

On Saturday August 19, 2017 That Fashion Chick was pleased to be the guest presenter for the Girl Scout Troops of Davis Homes and Pendleton Homes of Macon-Bibb County Housing Authority {MBCHA}. My daughter Talia,14 {top left} and I were there to help the troops earn their Independence and Business Badges. We showed them the basics of hand sewing, how to sew on a button, and how to sew on a patch.

The Girl Scout Troops are holding up the patches they sewed. A few Troops won notion bags for answering questions about the presentation.
Thank you to Rhonda Miller {top far right}, MBCHA ROSS Service Coordinator and Troop Leader for organizing this fashion fun-filled event.

My Daughter Talia has a blog: HerCoolUtopia.blogspot.com

Good Job T!!💗

Thank you to my mother Karen Dargan Middleton, MBCHA Chief of Resident Initiatives.

The Troops presented me with a card...so precious.

They made paper dolls inspired by TFC

It was cool they wanted to take pictures before we left

Looking forward to working with these young ladies again!😊

Event: Jetsetter Mixer & Life Lessons Magazine

How's it going? Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

It was heavy Mommy time for a moment {well it never ends, tho it gets intense}
. My boo's have made me very proud with their academic accomplishments. TFC has started an amazing Summer. New happenings are nicely coming about!
....................

Now, back to the event:

I attended the Jetsetter Mixer in Atlanta, GA at Atlantis Restaurant on  Friday June 24, 2016. It featured the revealing of Life Lessons Magazine Summer Global Issue, celebrating the cover of Germaine Moody {Author/CEO - Jetsetter Events}. The cover is great and so is his article "Moody's Top 25 Inspiring People To Know In 2016".

Event: White House United State of Women Summit {History}

Monday night I took a 10 hour road trip from Atlanta, GA to Washington, D.C. to cover the first ever, White House United State of Women Summit at the Walter E. Convention Center.

Let me tell ya, I re-read that confirmation letter over and over, with shock and gratitude.

Once we arrived Tuesday morning {June 14} I checked-in and received my credentials...then it all became really-real...an amazing and empowering experience is ahead of me.

The moment of the evening was to see our First Lady Mrs. Michelle Obama, of course it was truly great to see Ms. Ophra, Mr. Buffett, Mrs. Pelosi and our President Mr. Barack Obama.

O-M-G! Check out those names!!
There were a lot more too.

I can't wait to share with you, my highlights of this historical event.

......................

While I handled business at the Women’s Summit, my mother, Karen Dargan Middleton, Chief of Resident Initiatives with Macon-Bibb County Housing Authority (MBCHA) in Macon, Georgia was handling her business just blocks away visiting with Jena Roscoe, 1st Senior Vice President with Operation HOPE.  May 10, leaders and stakeholders of Macon, Georgia celebrated the opening of an Operation HOPE  service site located at one of MBCHA’s one-stop resource centers that Middleton oversees - Buck Melton Community Center. Good Day, Tuesday!

The Ultimate Fashion Xperience sponsored by ABS Fine Art & Apparel was AWESOME!!

I took my little chickadees and we had a blast. All of the fashions were stylishly fresh and strut worthy. Runway chicks were struuuting and the dancers were gettin' IT! The vendors were awesome too.

Final edits are still being made. Stay tuned for a delightful treat!

I went for a casual-cool look...one year I wore heels, as media - nuff said lol...dressy days are on the horizon {new fashion inspiration}.

I can't wait to show my new glasses too {Studio L. Fashae is coming with an update}.

Good Day, ya'll!
