Gabrielle Union Stars In New Miu Miu Film {Watch This!!!}

Miu Miu has released the fifth film “The Door,”  in their short film series “Women’s Tales,” staring Gabreille Union and their spring 2013 collection. 

Union stars as a very stylish woman {heartbroken by her broken marriage} who is consoled by her friends and a closet full of Miu Miu clothes. The titular door is Union’s front door, in which her friends {Emayatzy Corinealdi, and Adepero Oduye} come through trying  to cheer her up by dragging her to various events. Singer-songwriter Goapele also appears and sings!!!

In the end, Union is able to leave the house by herself, empowered by the love of her friends {advice from Alfre Woodard} and amazing Miu Miu clothes.

This video {directed by Ava DuVernay} is a really touching story about friendship. You can get over anything with great friends... and amazing clothes won't hurt either lol ;D

Alexander Wang Collaborates With Samsung + {Watch This!!!}

Alexander Wang is teaming up with Samsung to design a limited edition bag. With all that Wang has going on {designing his debut collection for Balenciaga, his first Paris show, and his normal collection}, how could one of this season's most talked-about designers find any time to do anything else? According to WWD, this project probably won't be adding too much to his workload, seeing that the bag will be essentially created by other people.

{The bag will be} inspired by sketches and photos by a group of influencers selected by the designer. The group of stylists, photographers and friends will use the Samsung Galaxy Note II to produce the images, which will serve as a base for Wang to create a print that will be used on the bag. Explains WWD 

This bag sounds like it will be a very interesting piece. The bag will be sold at select Alexander Wang boutiques and the brand’s e-commerce site this summer. What's even better is that proceeds from the bag's sales will benefit ArtStart, a New York City charity that aims to nurture the creative talents of at-risk children and youths. 

“I am most inspired from my everyday life and the people that surround me, so the idea of a co-creation with the people that I admire and respect the most is very exciting,” said Wang. “This collaboration represents a new way that technology and style can come together. And, through a concerted effort, I am happy to be a part of supporting such a great charity as ArtStart that embraces creativity and art in a way that can change lives.”

On an unrelated, funnier note, check out this spoof video set in Wang's store. It stars MADtv's Bon Qui Qui with cameos by Alessandra Ambrosio, Natasha Lyonne, A$AP Rocky and Simon Doonan.

It's a Collaboration!!: Prabal Gurung for Target is almost here

 

Oh how we love the collaborations!  Remember we told you about designer house Prabal Gurung working on a collection for Target {watch a couple videos too}?!  The collection swill be available for purchase at Target stores {and online} on February 10.  They are projecting this collaboration to be a HIT, and it should be. The pieces are super Gorge! 

Elle mag has the complete look book, so be sure to check it out here along with prices tags. The collection is very affordable {clothes, shoes and accessories} with most pieces under $50. The priciest piece is a leather jacket for $199.99.

I am so smitten with Chanel's Spring 2013 RTW collection.  Mr. Lagerfeld you are remarkable!  This collection is showing a bit of edgy style, but in a Chanel way. It is definitely a new look for the label. I like it! It looks refreshed and upbeat. Oh and the ‘Lagerfeld’ gloves..NICE!  Aside from the collection, the accessories were awesome, 'SUPER SIZE' comes to mind.

Roberto Cavalli Spring 2013 {Men & Woman} + Watch This!!

Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli showed is Spring 2013 collection in Milan yesterday.  His collection celebrates the woman’s body impeccably.  It is greatly detailed.  Prints are his specialty, in which he took to another level in this collection. The dresses where like sexy slips with an edge and those shredded pants I WILL take in a 2 please and thank you! I love that he is big on separates including pants {my kind of style}.

This collection is drool worthy…Roberto Cavalli is an amazing designer, who happens to be my absolute favorite.  His aesthetic is really sexy and feminine/masculine in a luxe-chic way...it’s mysterious. The statement 'less {skin} is more' definitely comes to mind.
