Salvatore Ferragamo has a Hollywood inspired capsule collection

I'm sure your mother and/or grandmother are Ferragamo Chicks!

The Italian house of Salvatore Ferragamo has a capsule collection that has the fashion streets talking. This is a special Hollywood collection that consists of handbags, shoes, and jewelry all inspired by Los Angeles. The collection is currently available at Ferragamo's first ever L.A. pop-up shop at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, CA from October 18th through November 15. You can also purchase the collection on Ferragamo.com.

A little background history between Hollywood and Salvatore Ferragamo; he made Dorthy's ruby slippers for the 1939 version of "The Wizard of Oz" and the famous scene of Marilyn Monroe's skirt famously blowing up in "Seven Year Itch", she was rocking Ferragamos. #FashionHistory.

Watch This!!: Chinti and Parker Meets Paternity

London-based clothing company Chinti and Parker {offers ethically produced playful, and often quirky, appeal} is teaming up with creative group Paternity {that specializes in patterns, hence the name} this season to create a high-impact twenty-eight-piece capsule of black, white, and mint knit maxi dresses and separates. The merino wool and cashmere collection was inspired by architecture and mixes polka dots big and small with diamonds, stripes, grids, and enlarged, blocked shapes. The designers released a hypnotizing short film that set their geometric pieces against the buildings that inspired them.

Fashion Finds: Proenza Schouler has a collection at Net-A-Porter {it's a collaboration}

Proenza Schouler recently launched a surf-inspired capsule collection for Net-a-Porter. This is a first for the label since it launched back in 2002, by designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.

Holli Rogers, Fashion Director at Net-a-Porter says "We are so excited about this collection which is everything you would expect from Proenza Schouler -- slick, cool and covetable, with a buy and wear now sensibility."

Proenza Schouler sketch

"The collection was based on some of our favorite pieces from past pre-spring collections and riff on the idea of surf-inspired classics like the board short and the Baja pullover, but reinterpreted in luxe fabrics like leather and custom tweeds."

This collection IS pretty kool and we will call this an affordable investment buy(s)!

An Unexpdcted Collabo: Raf Simons + Adidas

Wow...these fashion collaborations are getting really unpredictable, we would have never expected "Mr. Dior", Raf Simons to team up with Adidas. According to a press release, Simons designed a limited edition collection of men' sneakers for the athletic company, which debuted at his Paris menswear presentation this week. The collection {said to hit the selves in July} will include five models based on “signature Adidas high-end performance and running silhouettes” and will be available in three colorways.

Now we are wondering if a big Doir collaboration could be in the works anytime soon...hmm...

Yoko Ono + Opening Ceremony Capsule Collection

Yoko Ono

Yoko Ono has quite an unique design aesthetic, which we'll soon get to see more of. The designer has teamed up with Opening Ceremony to create a capsule collection inspired by a series of sketches she gave to her husband {the late John Lennon} for their wedding in 1969Ono says the designs are homage to Lennon’s ‘hot bod’.

The 52 piece menswear collection is called ‘Fashions for Men: 1969 – 2012’ and is said to include a pair of boots complete with an incense holder and a pair of trousers with a hand sewn into the crotch {WOW!!!}. Though the items have not been revealed yet, Humberto Leon {co-founder of Opening Ceremony} told press that the pieces are close representations of the drawings.

One of Ono's sketches from OC

“I think she just fell in love with John’s body and wanted to show off all of the parts of his body that she loved,” said Leon, “There’s something so beautiful about that sentiment. And we’ve realized these designs in pretty actual terms of how she drew them.”

The collection will be available from Opening Ceremony on Nov 27th in the United States, then Tokyo and London in the beginning of December. We're really excited to see this collection!!!

Macy's has another collaboration via Calvin Klein

Photo: Francisco for Calvin Klein

Macy's is up for another collaboration! The collaboration will actually be a capsule collection  of dresses with Calvin Klein Collection designer Francisco Costa.  The collection's theme will be called "A Magical Journey to Brazil."  I'm thinking sexy-chic.  Costa is actually Brazilian, so it makes sense.

“This fresh, youthful line of dresses reflects both my roots and the modern, yet timeless spirit of Calvin Klein,” Costa told the trade.

he also added...

“some of the architecture in Brazil and the sunset on the horizon there’ rather than the bright, happy colors and bold graphic prints that will be very evident in the promotion and that Brazilian designers are known for.”

The capsule collection will be called Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein.  Prices look to be ranging from $130 to $180May 15th is the launch date, but the dresses will only be available for only two months!

I have no doubt that this collection will be successful being that Francisco Costa is a major factor at Calvin Klein.  All you CK lovers get ready!
