Is Ugg Austaralia going down under??

I remember my days in retail {oh how I miss the sales floor}…Uggs were a pretty hot commodity during fall/winter seasons. Now it seems that Uggs have lost their momentum and popularity has taken a dive.  It doesn’t help that most men think these are the fugliest boots to be on a chicks feet, but hey we dig ‘em. The Ugg Australia brand is in the process of taking a new approach on gaining back our loyalty as valued customers.

Ugg will be building a more stand-alone stores, not only selling the classic Ugg boots, but their other products that I’m sure you will take a liking to if you have not already.  They also make handbags, winter apparel, fashion boots and sportswear.  We may be seeing stores as soon as next year. Hopefully Uggs will see a great turn around.

DIY: Sequined Sweater

I posted a super kool diy by Honestly WTF not too long ago and OMG you loved it!! Sooooo, I stumbled upon another one while on Pinterest. It has That Fashion Chick written all over it. 

  This diy is chic AND a nice way to recycle old tops that  were once doomed for the can. Try the same technique on other garments and accessories!

Here is what you will need via Honestly WTF:

• a sweater (I went two sizes up)
• 10 yards of assorted sequin trim
• pattern (downloadable here and here)
• fabric pen
• Jewel-It glue (last used here)
• scissors
• tweezers
• needle & thread (optional)

Narciso Rodriguez Given New Advisory Role At Banana Republic

Narciso Rodriguez has been quite the busy man lately. Months after designing a collection for Kohl’s Design Nation, Rodriguez is making another big move involving mainstream powerhouse Banana Republic.

According to a press release, Rodriguez was given an ‘advisory role’ with Banana Republic, which will “allow for a top industry talent to contribute to an already strong design and product development team.” to “build upon the strengths of the brand.” Rodriguez will be advising Banana Republic’s Executive Vice President of Design and Creative Director, Simon Kneen, on infusing his famed modern American sportswear aesthetic into the brand’s offerings.

“Narciso’s expertise will be a great complement to Simon’s strengths and to our incredible design team,” said President of Banana Republic, Jack Calhoun {who created the role specially for Rodriguez}.

Rodriguez will step into his new role on August 20th and get right to work on the Fall 2013 collection. I'm very excited to see Banana Republic's new look.
