Prada’s {expensive-as-Hell} fur coat!

Prada
I read an article about high-end fashion prices sky rocketing but WOW. Prada has a fur coat that is supposed to be the ‘IT’ coat from its Fall 2013 collection (amongst the rich that is...cough} and the price tag is $140,240!!

It is a gorgeous coat and a classic so this would be the only fur coat you need for the rest of your life!

Watch This!!: PRADA REAL FANTASIES FALL/WINTER 2013

Check out this kool fashion ad campaign by Prada for its Fall/Winter 2013 collection. I think it's interesting, but dope and very creative! I'll let the description explain the vision lol.

The main topics explored in the collection stem from raw elegance and banal emotion, weaving in multiple interconnected stories. Profound romanticism, stories of normal men, women, and life, are brought together as an animated puzzle of recognizable daily elements.

Get the Scoop!!: Top 10 Luxury Brands and Apparel brands in the world

We have the scoop on the top luxury brands as well as top apparel brands!
It’s pretty kool to see how the ranking falls…you know the fashion industry is a multi *cough* billion dollar industry!

WPP and Millward Brown has released 2013’s BrandZ Top 100 list, which names the most valuable brands worldwide. Louis Vuitton {we should of known} hit the top spot for the second year in a row with company value at $22.7 billion and Hermes is #2 with a company value of $19.1 billion.
  1. Louis Vuitton
  2. Hermes
  3. Gucci
  4. Prada
  5. Rolex
  6. Chanel
  7. Cartier
  8. Burberry
  9. Fendi
  10. Coach

That pretty much sets the tone for the luxury brands. Apparel brands are not far behind. Surprisingly, Zara {fast fashion chain} hit the list with $20 billion in value, surpassing Nike as the most valuable apparel brand in the world.
  1. Zara
  2. Nike
  3. H&M
  4. Ralph Lauren
  5. Adidas
  6. Uniqulo
  7. Next
  8. Lululemon
  9. Hugo Boss
  10. Calvin Klein

KCD's Digital Fashion Shows Goes Public with Peter Som + Others

Peter Som
Earlier this month, Peter Som cancelled his Fall '13 runway show at New York Fashion Week {we mentioned this a couple of weeks ago}...or so we thought! Turns out, Som will be going digital instead, presenting his Fall ’13 collection online on KCD’s Digital Fashion Shows. Pierre Balmain and Alexander Plokhov will also have digital shows on the KCD outlet.
When Digital Fashion Shows {digital alternative to attending live shows} launched last year, it was exclusively for buyers and press. This year, they have announced that they will open its portal to the public, allowing them to log on and watch the Fall ‘13 collections on the virtual runways.
“The log-in response from non-invitees was tremendous and as it continued to grow with each digital show it became necessary to respond to our client’s request to open the platform’s doors wider for greater exposure,” said KCD's Digital Managing Director, Rachna Shah. ”But the site retains all of the innovative tools the press needs to review and cover the shows as featured when the platform was founded.”
With an increasing number of designers {like Burberry & Prada}, livestreaming runway shows to the public, it only makes sense for an already-online show to do the same. Although a runway show only lasts about thirty minutes, images and video captured from the show will live forever in cyberspace; Plus, they can reach customers all over the world, giving brands more advertising bang for their buck!
DFS only has three scheduled shows during NYFW, so far, but plans to announce more for the European shows. Peep the schedule below and tune in to DFS and check out the shows. We'll definitely be watching!!! :)

Alexander Plokhov: Saturday, February 9th beginning at 10am EST
Peter Som: Wednesday, February 13th beginning at 9am EST
Pierre Balmain: Friday, February 8th beginning at 9am EST

Prada’s 2013 Spring Menswear Campaign

Prada seems to be starting a trend of casting actors, instead of models, for their menswear collections. Dane DeHaan, Benicio Del Toro, Harvey Keitel and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have been enlisted for its 2013 spring campaign. David Sims captured the blue steels of the {legendary and up-and-coming} actors in a black and white shoot...perfect for showing off that sharp Prada tailoring that we love.

Check them out...

Dane DeHaan

Benicio Del Toro

Harvey Keitel

Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Gary Oldman, Garrett Hedlund, Jamie Bell and Willem Dafoe were cast last season in Prada's fall 2012 campaign and runway show. Though none of the guys from this campaign strutted the runway for Prada’s spring 2013 show in Milan, we believe they would totally rock it!!!

Chess Inspired Prada Fall 2012 Film

With the help of legendary Steven Meisel, Prada has staged an intense chess match played out by models in equally intense clothes for their Fall 2012 campaign ad. The film features models Vanessa Axente, Magdalena Frackowiak, Madison Headrick, Elza Luijendijk, Iselin Steiro, and Anne Vyalitsyna with underlined eyes and long, straight hair dressed in graphic prints, bold red and royal purple ensembles, jaunty caps, and jewel-embellished coats.

Check it out!

Prada’s Fall 2012 Campaign is Like a Fashion Video Game

Prada's Fall 2012 campaign should definetly be an interesting one to see....based off of statements in a press release about the campaign, it sounds to have been inspired by videogames.

"Shifting camera angles and an endless depth of field create a playful illusion of perspective and proportion, recalling the setting for a videogame." Steven Meisel states in the release.

"Occupying the space on multiple levels characters in the foreground appear magnified, while others recede into the distance like virtual princesses poised for combat. The models’ unified gaze creates a seductive focus as our eye navigates the frame and its unexpected dimensions. Blocks of coordinated colour created by clothing, dip-dyed hair and furniture produce a chromatic architecture for our fashion avatars."

Though there is not much info out about the new Prada campaign, this is enough to make me anxious to see more!

A Met Gala dress sold on eBay {Carey Mulligan's}

It's always good to use eBay for what its good for...make an extra buck!

It looks like the Prada dress Carey Mulligans wore to the Met Gala has sold on eBay for $2,950 with 35 bids {there was a limit on the auction}  I'm not quite sure of Prada's price tag for the fashionably creative dress, but hopefully all parties are satisfied!
