Jason Wu's New Gig at Hugo Boss
German clothing line Hugo Boss recently announced the appointment of designer and CFDA member Jason Wu as their new artistic director of their womenswear line. Wu will be taking over from Eyan Allen who has been with the company since 2007. Wu will continue to run his own label Miss Wu {with loyal clients such as Michelle Obama and Anna Wintour} and start his new position at Boss on June 15th. Boss is based in Metzingen, Germany but will be opening a studio in New York where Wu has been based since 2006. Hugo Boss will be skipping it's traditional Spring-Summer showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2014 in Berlin but will present an Autumn-Winter 2014/2015 line under Wu's direction next February in New York. Boss menswear, designed by Kevin Lobo, will present as well.

WPP and Millward Brown has released 2013’s BrandZ Top 100 list, which names the most valuable brands worldwide. Louis Vuitton {we should of known} hit the top spot for the second year in a row with company value at $22.7 billion and Hermes is #2 with a company value of $19.1 billion.

That pretty much sets the tone for the luxury brands. Apparel brands are not far behind. Surprisingly, Zara {fast fashion chain} hit the list with $20 billion in value, surpassing Nike as the most valuable apparel brand in the world.
