Louis Vuitton announced: Nicolas Ghesquière WILL replace Marc Jacobs

Well looky, looky Louis Vuitton has finally revealed their replacement. The new Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton is Nicolas Ghesquiere, who is the former Creative Director of Balenciaga!

Not bad LV not bad, but following Marc Jacobs' lead...I'm sure Nicolas 'got this'.

We posted about Alexander Wang being announced as the new Creative Director of Balenciaga, so this is a nice turnaround for Nicolas.

Louis Vuitton initially denied the reports of Nicolas Ghesquiere being named as the replacement for Marc Jacobs {contract ends in 2014}. Silly rabbits! lol  =D

 I could have sworn I updated you on Marc Jacobs' collaboration with Sephora, but that post was over a year ago! Now, we are getting closer to the beauty lines release date.

Who: Marc Jacobs + Sephora

What: They will be launching their  fourth beauty line collaboration soon. It will consist of 122 different products  including unisex products {lip balm, brow tamer and concealer}.

When: August 9

Where: Sephora and Marc Jacob stores

Prices range from $24 to $59 {maybe more} and MJ was very hands on from the naming to the packaging. It's being projected that this line will rack in the dough...to the tune of  $15 million.

Louis Vuitton Windows Are Dino-mite

If rumors about Marc Jacobs possibly not renewing his contract with Louis Vuitton in 2014 wasn't enough to create buzz for the company, the house's new window installations sure will. Taking a break from the typical brightly hued works of an eccentric or iconic artist, seven stores worldwide {including Paris’ Champs Élysées, London’s New Bond Street, and New York’s Fifth Avenue} are displaying dinosaurs!! That's right, the windows are hosting jewel like reproductions of prehistoric skeletons of Velociraptors, Dimetrodons, Stegosauruses, Tyrannosaurus Rexes, and Triceratopses {just to name a few} with mannequins wearing Vuitton’s Pre-Fall ’13 settled peacefully upon the creatures. 

I love it!! According to Style.com, the displays were inspired by a trip to the Natural History Museum in Paris’ Les Jardins des Plantes.

Lindsey Wixson's signature gapped teeth and luscious full lips has made her a very sought after model. She has walked for Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Christian Dior and now the 18 year old has snagged the cover of the September issue of Canadian fashion magazine Flare. The issue will hit the newsstands August 6th.

The CFDA's winners and honorees! {Watch This!!}

The 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards {Celebrating 50 Years!!!} took place Monday, June 4 at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center.  I previously told you I was so anticipating this day and one day I too will be a part of the winners and honorees list.  The CFDA's are like the Oscars for the fashion world, so I need that statue!

“This year’s awards were particularly special,” said CFDA President Diane von Furstenberg. “We honored the best talent working in American fashion today and celebrated CFDA’s 50th Anniversary and the impact of our family of designers.”

“A CFDA Fashion Award is one of the most coveted awards in our industry,” said CFDA CEO Steven Kolb. “This annual event is the one night we come together to celebrate our own.”

It's a Collaboration!!: Louis Vuitton + Yayoi Kusama

Collaborations are a great way for designers to maximize their business as well as it being a lucrative opportunity.  It looks like a major collaboration is in the works for designer label, Louis Vuitton and Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, who's known for her signature bright colored dots. 

This collection will be revealed July 10!  It includes a lot of dot-covered items like silk pj's, dresses, trench coats, jewelry, bags and shoes...all will be boasting with color.

Th products are said to be sold in Vuitton's 461 stores starting July 11 and more to come in October.  And get this, Kusama is 82!  This should be a very successful collaboration with these two creative heads! {Head of LV: Marc Jacobs + Yahoi Kusama}

I love when designers expand their brands and add totally new products!

It looks like Marc Jacobs, Mr. jack-of-all-trades, will be  launching a makeup line, and it may be with Sephora.  Two amazing brands...this should be good!

“Anything to me that is part of the joy, the ritual, of getting dressed — things that women enjoy like bags, shoes, fragrance, clothes, makeup — that’s what fashion’s about for me,” Jacobs told WWD. “I love the opportunity, wherever there is one, to adorn, to decorate, to scent, to dress. That’s what fashion’s all about. It’s not necessary, it’s something you want — it’s a fancy and a whim.”

There has not been a release date as of yet, but of course I will keep you updated!
