Coach is broadening their horizions {clothing line}

We are big fans of re-branding.  It really can’t hurt a company…well unless the new direction is just all wrong. Hopefully Coach can hit this one out the park!

  Coach, an affordable luxury {handbag and accessory} brand, is in the process of broadening  their horizons…with a clothing line and more lifestyle products. This is GREAT news for Coach Lovers!
   via Fashionista:
“The reality is that the marketplace has shifted,” chairman and chief executive officer Lew Frankfort told WWD. “We’re responding transformationally to take advantage of the opportunity. It’s not as if we’re static.”
Coach already has great price points, so let’s hope this all goes very well.  THEN Michael Kors {love him dearly} and Tory Burch are going to have new competition, being that they are the top lifestyle brands...according to WWD.
 “Instead of designing accessories to fill a need, we’re thinking more about the woman, who she is, where she goes, what is her life like and how does it feel, to move Coach from…where you think of a Coach bag, to now when you think of Coach, you will think of a woman or a man and you think of their lifestyle,” Reed Krakoff, the brand’s president and executive creative director, said. It’s not about the “it-bag” anymore.

Event: Alt'r Ego fashion show feat. {Bill Hallman}

This was me Saturday, February 18....Shout out to Manny!

I had a blast this past weekend getting my fashion-fix in!

My good friend Cash Carter and I attended the Alt'r Ego fashion show featuring clothes by celebrity designer, Bill Hallman and a special performance by a special YMCMB recording artist!

It took place...

Blue Mark Studios {ATL}

It was pretty cool that the theme was Mr. & Mrs. Smith.  I will say some people did not stick to the theme, but I did!

In the top picture - I wore a black/silver sequin mini tube dress with purple suede heels, my signature color. I kept it just a tad spicy. I was going to do my own makeup, in which I'm glad I kept my appointment with Manny at Nordstrom {Perimeter} in the M.A.C. department, because he made me look like a million bucks...I mean the makeup was flawless.  So thank you again Manny, I will be seeing you again!;)

As we entered the building it was a packed house...

Two gentlemen performed a couple of songs while the models walked.

I was enjoying the show and anticipated the main event.  YMCMB recording artist, Shanell, was there and she gave a really great performance!  I wish she did my song My Button, but it was great seeing her.  She was singing while Bill Hallman's clothes walked out.  Not too long after that, the show was over.  It was another fun fashion event for That Fashion Chick!!

It was pretty dark in there, so the pictures are interesting lol.  Check out the rest of my favorite shots below:

She is a true artist, love her voice!

Trend Alert: Art Deco

This trend alert is super cool!  This trend is trickling down from the runways to the streets.  Clearly, this is walking art and you know what that means...fashion fun!!!

Art Deco is a decorative and architectural style of the period 1925-1940, characterized by geometric designs, bold colors, and the use of plastic and glass {Source}.

You can really do a lot with this trend making it modern in 2012.  Its all about  design and detail.  This can make a great statement piece or the focal pint of your look.  A real easy look could be an art deco inspired  tunic or dress paired, with some nice tights or classic denim and simple-chic shoes!

Examples below:

Jewelry is included!!
