Alexander McQueen Resort 2013

After a few seasons of intensely detailed dresses and gowns Sarah Burton changed things up a little for the Alexander McQueen Resort 2013 collection.

"I wanted to bring everything back to the body." Burton told Style.com "The proportions are extreme: high waists, an elongated leg, a peaked shoulder. There's a harder, more precise, masculine edge that's a reaction to the roundness and the sickly-sweet femininity of the last collection."

Inspired by David Bowie {Glam Rock} and Gustav Klimt {Art Deco}, Burton created a very structured/masculine collection adding feminine by featuring metallic jacquard and intricate embroidery.

I only have one word: GORGEOUS!!!!

Trend Alert: Art Deco

This trend alert is super cool!  This trend is trickling down from the runways to the streets.  Clearly, this is walking art and you know what that means...fashion fun!!!

Art Deco is a decorative and architectural style of the period 1925-1940, characterized by geometric designs, bold colors, and the use of plastic and glass {Source}.

You can really do a lot with this trend making it modern in 2012.  Its all about  design and detail.  This can make a great statement piece or the focal pint of your look.  A real easy look could be an art deco inspired  tunic or dress paired, with some nice tights or classic denim and simple-chic shoes!
