When it comes to high fashion...of course I love my home - the great US of A, but I must say Italy is #1 for me, as far as fabric choice and taste level goes, for the fashion industry. You know my favorite designer is Roberto Cavalli, who just emulates the essence of Italy oh so well.

Check the 2014 Spring/Summer Collection by Italian designer Carlo Pignatelli Cerimonia {gowns for women too}...talk about glam & being dapper!

Roberto Cavalli has a new Autobiography...'Just Me!'

Book: Just Me!
Photo By Courtesy Photo
Talk about ICON status! My favorite fashion designer, Roberto Cavalli, is finally finished with his autobiography called Just Me! {which took four years to write}.

I remember doing a report on Cavalli when I was in fashion school, which is when my love affair began, he is truly awesome.

This is going to be a refresher..a great detailed story from the artist himself. I like to get in the mind of creative geniuses and learn priceless thoughts.

Just Me! was launched at a press conference in Milan {yesterday} by the Mayor of Florence {Matteo Renzi}...this is a BIG deal!

Looking forward to purchasing my copy as sooon as it becomes available in the US!

That Guy has Style: Mariano Di Vaio {Milan}

Mariano Di Vaio, fashion blogger from Milan

Check out Mariano's style! Speaking is not needed, he is oooozing sex appeal. I love how he closed out his look with the laced up boots to still give off that edge. Not a bad look for fall either fellas...it reads: comfy, sexy & cool!

Christian Lacroix pays homage to Elsa Schiaparelli {Fashion Icon}

The artist and contemporary designer Christian Lacroix {who closed his fashion house a few years back, but has move to costume designing for the theatre} payed homage to the late great Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli in Paris at the Les Arts Decoratifs during Paris Couture Fashion Week. This special tribute was by invitation of La Maison Schiaparelli.

  Lacroix designed an 18 piece collection, inspired by Schiaparelli who was a very influential fashion designer during the beginning of the 20th Century. She is best known for her play on colors, elaborate draping and lobster embellishments to name a few...her rival was Coco Chanel. Schiaparelli was a true designer who took major chances back in her day and did not limit herself to traditional styles.

The pieces in this exhibit wont be for sale. The exhibit was intended to pay homage and bring attention to the fact that the House of Schiaparelli may be reopening {RTW & haute couture collections}. Well done Christian Lacroix.

This is so amazing...these pieces are Art!

I just couldn't pass up on this post...it's too adorable! Roberto Cavalli posted pictures of his children's collection that will be featured in the Pitti Bimbo 77 fair for children in Florence, Italy. There is a lot of good info on the Pitti Bimbo here. Gets my thoughts going about a children's wear line...any who I love the pics Cavalli shared. This is a show I would love to be a part of and watch!

The 77th edition of Pitti Bimbo will be held between the 27th and 28th June 2013 at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence showcasing the kids designer fashion for spring/summer 2014.

Stella McCartney denim expansion

British designer Stella McCartney is expanding her ready-to-wear denim line, starting with the Spring 2014 collection. McCartney is adding 10 new styles in 20 different washes, including colors and prints, in various cuts. Some pieces are made solely of organic cotton in Italy, which is high quality alternative for the designer who famously boycotts the use of leather in the production of her collections.

Washes including over dyed, faded and dégradé come in classic shades of indigo, white, grey and black. The spring palette consists of rose, lipstick and chamomile. Prints include black and white heart print and all black subtle leopard. As for the cut, expect to see skinny, boyfriend and flare style jeans, along with low, medium and high rises.

Pieces in the collection will range between $350 ~ $595 and will be available {this November} in all 25 Stella McCartney stores as well as in multi-brand retailers across the world.
